Job summary

A prominent landscaping company is seeking a qualified individual to transport products to customers while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining quality. The role requires current Class A CDL, knowledge of DOT regulations, and the ability to operate safely under various conditions. The position offers a competitive pay range of $27.50 - $29.50 per hour, along with benefits including PTO and medical coverage. Candidates should demonstrate reliability and be able to handle physical tasks associated with transport.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with Class A or B license is a plus.
• Must pass a road test, drug screen, employer check, and a motor vehicle report.
• Must be able to drive inter-state.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customers and other SGI locations timely and accurately.
• Perform all pre and post trip equipment inspections and communicate maintenance issues immediately.
• Complete paperwork accurately and submit timely to Dispatch.

Job description

The Aurora site opened in 1997, and is located just 30 minutes south of Portland, Oregon in the beautiful Willamette Valley. The site has 37 acres of greenhouse and 3 acres of field space. In 2013, we added a 3-acre State-of-the-art glass greenhouse which has allowed the facility to repurpose 40,000 gallons of water every day helping to reduce our carbon footprint.

Transport product from Smith Gardens facilities to customer, maintaining quality product,timely delivery, accurate paperwork and safe driving. Transports materials inter-company asneeded. May drive solo or as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Deliver products to customers and other SGI locations timely and accurately.
• Perform all pre and post trip equipment inspections and communicate maintenance issues immediately.
• Update Hours of Service and send trip messages on the ELD IVG in-cab unit.
• Pick up empty racks at stores as well as materials at Smith facility as directed by Dispatch.
• Follow all DOT regulations.
• Complete paperwork accurately and submit timely to Dispatch.
• Represent Smith Gardens with a cooperative, positive, and professional attitude.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience working with Class A or B license a plus.
• Current DOT medical card.
• Current Class A CDL
• Must pass a road test, drug screen, employer check, and a motor vehicle report.
• Must be able to drive inter-state.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work weekends and longer hours during peak seasons.
• Work as part of a driving team.
• Unload truck at customer sites.
• Able to push/pull rolling racks.
• Break down and load racks at customer sites.
• Secure loads with load bars and/or straps.
• Safely operate a lift gate.

PAY RANGE

$27.50 - $29.50/hr.

• $17-$18.50 Per Hour
• $24-$26
