Job summary

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York is hiring for the seasonal Lead Catering Server in the Culinary Services department. You will set up dining rooms and outdoor events, serve meals, and ensure guest satisfaction during meetings, courses, and events.

Candidates should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and catering experience is preferred; Spanish is a plus. Must be able to stand long hours and lift items.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Some catering experience preferred; Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Setting up dining room(s) and outdoor events with required linen, tableware, and dishware.
• Anticipating guest needs and monitoring their dining experience to ensure satisfaction with the meal and service.
• Serving and clearing food and beverages in a sanitary manner.
• Providing service in a courteous and polite manner.
• Ensuring that all cleaning duties are accomplished for each event.
• Maintaining a professional and personable appearance.
• Arriving promptly for all scheduled shifts.
