Job summary

Crate and Barrel in Portland, OR is seeking Seasonal Cashiers to deliver a warm, engaging in-store experience. You will process orders quickly at the POS, handle payments, and help customers choose gifts and coffee makers, while staying neat at the cash wrap.

This role emphasizes friendly service, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and weekend availability after Thanksgiving and around Christmas. Part-time positions require two or more weekend days plus a weekday or night.

Responsibilities

• Process customers' orders quickly, efficiently, and accurately through the POS system.
• Handle CBH Credit Card and email capture metrics as assigned by leaders.
• Respond to customer questions in a professional and respectful manner.
• Process payments as outlined in POS training.
• Promote applicable promotions, offers, loyalty programs, and initiatives to customers.
• Wrap/bag orders and maintain a neat, stocked cash wrap.
• Support store leadership in profitability and operational excellence.
• Ensure products and displays are stocked and available for customers.
• Execute and maintain visual merchandising standards on the sales floor.

A day in the life as a Seasonal Cashier…

• Drive sales through quickly, efficiently, and accurately processing customers' orders through the POS (point of sale) system.
• Responsible for meeting CBH Credit Card (CBHCC) and email capture metrics as assigned by leaders.
• Respond to customer questions in a professional and respectful manner.
• Process payments as outlined in the POS training.
• Communicate and have awareness of applicable promotions, offers, loyalty programs, and other initiatives to customers.
• Wrap and/or bag customers' orders with care; maintain a neat and safe cash wrap. Ensure cash wraps are fully stocked with supplies.
• Lead by example and support store leadership in holding self and others accountable for store profitability and operational excellence.
• Assist with ensuring products and displays on the sales floor are stocked appropriately and available for customers to purchase.
• Execute and maintain the visual merchandising standards of the sales floor to engage customers and associates with the product, as needed.

• Must be able to work the weekend after Thanksgiving AND the days surrounding Christmas
