Job summary

Legislative Support Services (LSS) provides videography services to the Washington State Legislature, including editing and motion graphics for official updates on Capitol Campus. The Session Videographer is a full-time, temporary role to support the 2027 legislative session.

Based in Olympia, the role requires in-person attendance Monday–Friday, lifting up to 15 pounds, and a non-partisan work ethic in a partisan environment. Flexible evening coverage may be needed.

Qualifications

• At least two years of videography experience, preferably in a professional setting.
• Proficiency operating professional video cameras and production equipment daily.
• Experience editing video on Mac using Adobe Creative Cloud: Premiere Pro, After Effects.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with a professional demeanor.
• Excellent time management, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong office management skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to collaborate in a team or work independently as needed.
• Desirable: Experience with Panasonic DSLRs and Blackmagic Design Studio 4K Pro cameras.

Responsibilities

• Record and edit weekly Legislative Update programs with legislators that are distributed on social media.
• Record House of Representatives and Senate floor debates, committee meetings and other events on the capitol campus.
