Job description

The Banquet Cook is responsible for performing a variety of commercial kitchen duties including setting up workstations, prepping food, cooking, cleaning, and stocking at various/assigned office locations including organization's facilities. The role prepares food to the exact specifications of the Chef. The role works as part of a culinary team under the supervision of a chef or kitchen manager and supports food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform Banquet Cook duties including setting up workstations, prepping food, cooking, cleaning, and stocking according to the Chef's specifications.
2. Clean stations and assist with kitchen cleanup, including disposing of garbage, cleaning utensils, pots, pans, and cooking surfaces.
3. Assist in operating dishwashing machines when necessary.
4. Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring them according to recipes and menu requirements.
5. Assist with overall food preparation, including peeling, cutting, marinating, and seasoning.
6. Plate and garnish dishes to enhance visual appeal, paying attention to proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishes.
7. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards, including proper food handling and storage.
8. Manage cooking times efficiently to ensure timely delivery of orders.
9. Coordinate with other kitchen staff for smooth workflow and timely dish execution.
10. Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients used in food preparation and take proactive measures to maintain food quality and consistency.
11. Assist in monitoring and replenishing kitchen supplies, ingredients, and inventory, notifying the appropriate person when supplies need to be ordered.
12. Collaborate with culinary team members to ensure effective communication and smooth kitchen operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 0 - 2 years of experience in Kitchen Management, Cooking, or a related field.
• High School Diploma or GED and/or relevant experience.
