Job summary

MOUNTAIN CAPITAL PARTNERS LLC is seeking a Seasonal Snow Safety and Training Supervisor for Purgatory Resort in Durango, CO. The role coordinates with the Snow Safety Director to manage daily safety operations, avalanche mitigation, and Ski Patrol training, ensuring staff are certified and evaluated.

This seasonal position runs mid-October 2026 to mid-April 2027 and includes a free season pass for you and dependents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• OEC certification or equivalent EMT.
• CPR certification.
• Avalanche certification Pro 1 (Pro 2 preferred).
• Colorado Type 1 Explosives Permit required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise avalanche mitigation program and explosives control.
• Coordinate route leaders and support mitigation routes.
• Maintain snow safety records and explosives inventory/logs.
• Ensure explosives storage/transport comply with regulations.
• Coordinate with CAIC and relay info to staff and operations.
• Lead/assist avalanche control routes and hazard planning.
• Participate in rescue and interagency emergency response as needed.
• Develop and oversee training curriculum and Rookie Training Week.
