Job summary

Taft College is seeking an Assistant Baseball Coach for the 2026-27 season. This is a temporary, part-time position based in Taft, CA, with responsibilities tied to the women’s basketball program as described.

The successful candidate will assist the Head Baseball Coach across all coaching duties, demonstrate dependable behavior, and travel as required. A high school diploma or equivalent and prior coaching experience are required, with emphasis on effective communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of prior coaching experience at the competitive club or high school level or above
• Ability to attend practices Monday-Friday 3 pm – 5 pm and related meetings.
• Ability to travel to competitions as schedule requires.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Baseball Coach in all aspects of coaching the women’s basketball team and instructing team members in the knowledge of the sport for the 2026-27 season. Must be dependable, able to travel, communicate effectively, exercise initiative, poise and good judgment.
