Job summary

Town of Barnstable seeks a Skating Director for the HYCC Skating School Learn to Skate Program. The role provides leadership, organization, and operation across all skating professionals, ensuring instruction and safety meet Learn to Skate USA, USFS, PSA, and HYCC standards.

You will develop, implement, and supervise lesson plans while maintaining the philosophies and expectations set forth by the Town of Barnstable.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Memberships: Learn to Skate USA (instructor), USFS, PSA.
• Liability Insurance Certificate and CER current certificates needed.
• Experience supervising activities and maintaining a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, organization, and operation of the HYCC Skating School Learn to Skate Program.
• Oversee all Skating Professionals and ensure instruction and safety meet standards.
• Develop, implement, and supervise lesson plans while upholding Town of Barnstable philosophies.

Department: Hyannis Youth and Community Center Division

The Skating Director is responsible for the overall leadership, organization, and operation of the HYCC Skating School Learn to Skate Program. This position oversees all Skating Professionals and ensures that instruction, safety, and program delivery meet or exceed Learn to Skate USA, U.S. Figure Skating (USFS), Professional Skaters Association (PSA), and HYCC standards. The Skating Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising lesson plans while maintaining the philosophies and expectations set forth by the Town of Barnstable.

Minimum Qualifications:

CPR / First Aid certified, Membership to Learn to Skate USA as an instructor, Membership to USFS, Membership to PSA, Liability Insurance Certificate, CER Current Certificates, Experience supervising activities, Good positive attitude.
