Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a production/inspection associate to identify defects on cores, patch or trim as needed, and perform blue dye and 100% visual inspections. The role requires adherence to SOPs, accurate record keeping, and safe handling of hazardous waste in a production environment.

You will enter data into the computer, maintain throughput, and meet department productivity and yield standards while working in a team setting and following all safety procedures.

• Blue dye inspection and 100% visual inspection before working on cores.
• Follow SOP and produce quantities within set standards for each part number.
• Identify negatives, cracks, and voids on cores and patch according to procedure.
• Enter information into the computer and maintain accurate records.
• Handle hazardous (flammable) waste and participate in contingency plans.
• Meet department productivity and yield standards and follow safety procedures.

Job description

Identify manufacturing defects on cores and patch or trim cores to repair defects. Blue dye and inspect.

Essential Functions:

• Must follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
• Produce quantities within set standards of each part number, identify core defects and maintain accurate records (routers, CQCS, etc)
• 100% visual inspection before working on cores is required
• Identify negatives on all cores and patch according to procedure
• Identify cracks and voids on all cores and patch according to procedure
• Must accurately complete blue dye inspection
• Use air gun with diamond tool to trim flash on all cores
• Maintain accurate records/documentation and enter information into the computer
• Employees will place hazardous (flammable) waste into satellite accumulation drums; employees will move hazardous (flammable) wastes to staging areas, etc. In the event of a spill employee will be involved in implementing the hazardous contingency plan and will assume the role of Emergency Coordinator in a hazardous waste emergency
• Meet department productivity and yield standards
• Must follow and adhere to all safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision
