Qualifications

  • Assist other departments through planning and technical assistance processes.
  • Valid driver’s license required to operate PCC vehicles.
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions.

Job description

To repair, overhaul, maintain, install, and modify equipment and facilities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintenance and Repair

Objective: to maintain manufacturing and facilities' equipment in proper, efficient working order.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Identifies and implements preventive maintenance programs for equipment and facilities.
  • Repairs, overhauls, maintains, installs and fabricates modifications to equipment and facilities as required.
  • Troubleshoots vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction heating, lubrication, abrasive and pressure cleaning systems and their components.
  • Maintains machine tools and equipment used for maintenance.
Safety

Objective: to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Adheres to plant and department safety rules.
  • Safely operates all equipment and tools.
  • Identifies and reports safety problems, corrects when possible.
  • May be required to work with hazardous waste.
  • Completes logs and records.
OTHER (MARGINAL) ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Trains less skilled personnel as assigned.
  • Performs other tasks as directed.
  • May be required to participate in Hazardous Materials Spill Response team.
ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT, VEHICLES, TOOLS AND/OR MACHINERY USED
  • Basic hand tools (hammers, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.)
  • Welding equipment

  • Saws (band or abrasive cut-off)

TRAINING
  • Training is provided on the job.
  • Hazardous Materials Handling Training may be required.
  • PCC's Forklift Driving Safety Certification must be completed.
  • May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Advanced skills as demonstrated by four years journey level work using a skill set found in Journey Maintenance work: plumbing, sheet metal, machinist, auto or welding skill sets with heating/venting and air conditioning, and carpentry preferred AND
  • Two years of trade school or apprenticeship training in an applicable skill set is preferred OR
  • An equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience.
