Job summary

Caraluzzi's Markets is seeking a Seafood Associate to prepare, merchandise, and maintain fresh seafood while delivering knowledgeable service and cooking recommendations. The role supports the Seafood Department through quality products, great presentation, and an exceptional customer experience.

The position requires strong customer service and communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work mornings, days, evenings, and weekends in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in seafood, meat cutting, food service, grocery, or retail preferred.
• Knife skills and/or previous cutting experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop product knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available to work mornings, daytime shifts, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient customer service to all customers.
• Prepare, package, label, and merchandise fresh seafood products according to company standards.
• Assist customers by answering seafood-related questions and providing cooking tips and product recommendations.
• Maintain attractive, well-stocked seafood displays while ensuring proper product rotation and freshness.
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and seafood handling procedures.
• Operate department equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other seafood preparation tools.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
• Learn about seafood products, preparation methods, and department procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
