Job summary

The Fish Market Restaurant in Five Points South, Alabama is seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to support our busy kitchen, with a focus on seafood prep and timely service. You will work with a team to deliver fresh dishes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include measuring ingredients, cooking, maintaining inventories, storing items properly, rotating stock, restocking for shifts, and keeping the prep area clean and sanitized at the end of each shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years’ experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry.
• Able to read and follow standardized recipes.
• Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
• Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere.
• ServeSafe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items.
• Cook and prepare food items.
• Maintain accurate food inventories.
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures.
• Rotate stock items as per established procedures.
• Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts.
• Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift.
