Job summary

Peraton in Red Bank, NJ seeks a Communications/RF Data Collection and SDR Engineer to lead large-scale RF data collection, simulation, and SDR software delivery. You will build automated multi-node data collection labs, develop synthetic data generation, and integrate signal processing chains into a GNU Radio framework deployed on commercial SDR hardware.

The ideal candidate is hands-on with spectrum analyzers, GNU Radio flowgraphs, and Python data pipelines, capable of designing experiments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on SDR experience, including at least 3 years with GNU Radio (3.8+) and Ettus USRP hardware (UHD).
• Strong proficiency in Python and C++ for signal processing and SDR software development.
• Experience designing and running RF data collection campaigns with RF test equipment and large I/Q datasets.
• Knowledge of digital communications, DSP fundamentals, modulation, coding, and channel models.
• Experience automating laboratory experiments and data pipelines in Linux.
• Experience with RF simulation and channel emulation (GNU Radio, MATLAB or Python).
• Ability to work on-site at the Red Bank, New Jersey laboratory.
• US Citizenship

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the laboratory RF data collection testbed with multi-node SDR configurations (Ettus USRP or similar).
• Plan and execute over-the-air and cabling data collection campaigns at scale with proper metadata.
• Develop synthetic data generation and channel emulation pipelines using Python and GNU Radio.
• Implement and maintain the SDR waveform framework and runtime to deploy waveforms to radios via program control API.
• Package waveform framework and data pipelines into containerized deliverables for T&E hardware and evaluation scenarios.
• Characterize generated waveforms against bandwidth, BER, throughput, and masks; document procedures and datasets.
