Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation seeks a senior electrical/computer systems engineer to design and optimize software‑defined RF pipelines for maritime environments. You will implement GNU Radio flowgraphs, OOT blocks, and end‑to‑end SDR chains, working with UHD/USRP, Soapy SDR, and VITA‑49, and you will develop high‑performance Python/C++ DSP code while coordinating across multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires a BS in EE/CE and 5+ years of related experience, with security clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or computer engineering (ECE/CmpE/CompE).
• Minimum five years of experience in electrical and/or computer system engineering.
• Hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and optimizing GNU Radio flowgraphs, custom OOT blocks, and end‑to‑end SDR processing chains, familiarity with UHD/USRP, Soapy SDR, VITA‑49, and IQ data capture/streaming
• Strong development skills in Python and C/C++ for high‑performance RF/DSP algorithms, including multi‑threading, concurrency, and memory‑efficient data movement
• Experience with a broad range of hardware types including RF assemblies, power supplies, FPGAs, DSPs, network/server equipment, and embedded architectures
• Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, and teamwork across multiple disciplines

Responsibilities

• Designing and building software‑defined RF pipelines optimized for real‑time maritime environments
• Developing GNU Radio flowgraphs and integrating SDR front‑ends and IQ data handling
• Implementing DSP algorithms in Python/C++ with performance/latency targets
• Conducting R&D prototyping and transitioning successful capabilities into PORs
• Providing systems engineering support across RF, FPGA, and embedded hardware domains
• Collaborating with engineers, software developers, QA, and program managers
