Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the SDN Core team, owning the framework and applications for Orion SDN infrastructure. You will guide multiple teams across locations, manage a sizable product budget, and oversee deployment of large-scale projects globally.

The role combines technical leadership with people management, defining goals, and driving collaboration across Networking Infrastructure and Cloud to support high-availability networking capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum: a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 3 years leading large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
• 2 years in people management or team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers for SDN framework, applications and tools at scale.
• Collaborate with product managers and PMOs on networking applications for Google data centers.
• Define goals and long-term strategy for the team and improvements to SDN infrastructure.
• Drive end-to-end development: requirements, design, implementation, testing and deployment.
• Mentor engineers, aligning career goals with project priorities.
