Job summary

Hidden Jobs is seeking an SDET to join an agile engineering team building Luma, a cloud-based scientific research platform used worldwide. You will own automated testing for a module, contribute to existing frameworks, and collaborate with developers, scientists, and DevOps.

Responsibilities include crafting and maintaining Cypress/TypeScript tests, extending test coverage with Playwright where needed, and ensuring release readiness through clear communication and QA sign-off.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of QA or testing experience, including at least one year in test automation.
• Practical experience with Cypress, including selectors, custom commands, debugging failures, and Page Object Model; React testing is a plus.
• Working knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript, including async code (promises/async-await).
• Familiarity with BDD and Cucumber, or willingness to learn; most specs are written in Gherkin.

Responsibilities

• Write, maintain, and extend automated test suites for an owned module using Cucumber, TypeScript, and Cypress, with Playwright in some areas.
• Own day-to-day quality: contribute test scenarios during planning, test stories as they are built, and communicate release readiness.
• Design and document test cases covering functional, regression, and integration scenarios and keep them relevant as the product evolves.
• Investigate and reproduce defects, raise well-evidenced bug reports in JIRA, and verify fixes with developers and scientists.
• Keep automated tests green and trustworthy in CI pipelines and help improve test execution and reporting.
• Read and interpret API documentation and translate it into meaningful automated coverage.
• Perform manual exploratory testing alongside automation work.
