Job summary

Applied Systems is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET/Playwright) to join our Indio Engineering team. You will create test plans, develop automated tests from manual cases, and provide insights to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software applications.

You will partner with architecture and engineering teams to prioritize testing tasks, mentor automated testers, and maintain test architecture and CI/CD quality gates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automated testing experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Playwright.
• Experience coaching automated testers on Playwright.
• Experience with automated testing for UI and/or API layers.
• Proficient with query languages (SQL, GraphQL).
• Experience running CLI commands in local or remote environments.
• Knowledge of microservices, cloud computing, and related technologies.
• Ability to develop test strategies and quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience reviewing logs to validate functionality and identify defects.
• Ability to analyze change logs and technical documentation independently.

Responsibilities

• Create test plans and conduct testing to assess impact of changes.
• Develop automated tests from manual test cases using modern frameworks.
• Ensure test design adheres to architecture and quality principles.
• Resolve technical issues and address risks to prevent high-severity issues.
• Maintain technical documentation related to test architecture, design steps, and integration processes.
• Collaborate with architecture and software development teams to maintain quality as products evolve.
