Job summary

Epic Games is seeking a smart, creative Software Development Engineer in Test Intern for the Art Ops team. You’ll help test internal tools, pipelines, and AI workflows used by artists to build game assets and pipelines for new models and web apps.

You’ll embed with engineers and technical artists to design tests, write automation, and validate tool performance. A CS-related degree and experience with Python, C++, or C# through coursework or projects are preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Comfortable writing code in at least one modern OOP language such as Python, C++, or C#, through coursework or personal projects.
• Basic understanding of software testing, such as unit and integration testing.
• Familiarity with a version control system.
• Interest in AI for content and code generation.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to confidently collaborate with senior team members and take feedback on technical topics and features.
• A personal project repository or demo portfolio is required

Responsibilities

• Write test plans for new tools and features, then turn them into automated tests.
• Help design and build the test framework our team will use going forward, with our engineers reviewing your code.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for our web apps and pipeline tools.
• Test how AI tools and workflows perform when new models are released, and help build ways to measure their performance.
• Support weekly release testing and turn repeated manual checks into automated tests.
• Investigate test failures, determine why a test broke, and share results with the team.
• Use AI-assisted tools to help run, write, and triage tests, and review what they produce
