Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) in San Diego, CA is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test Intern to join the Quality Engineering team and help deliver reliable PlayStation experiences to players worldwide.

You will work with engineers to test features across web, mobile, desktop, and other platforms, develop automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to test automation while gaining mentorship and hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong interest in software quality engineering, test automation, and software development.
• Exposure to UI automation tools and web technologies is a plus.
• Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Node.js, Java, or C++.

Responsibilities

• Test new and existing features across web, mobile, desktop, and other non-PC applications and devices to help ensure software quality and reliability.
• Develop and maintain automated tests for customer-facing applications, contributing to the team's automation codebase.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues.
• Apply software testing and quality engineering practices to improve test coverage, reliability, and development efficiency.
• Explore and use testing tools, processes, and implementation techniques to support the product development lifecycle.
• Participate in agile development workflows and collaborate with team members to support testing and automation efforts.
• Gain hands-on experience with software testing, debugging, and automation while learning from experienced Quality Engineering team members.
