Job summary

Platform Science, Inc. in Minnetonka, MN, is seeking an experienced SDET II to enhance quality, reliability, and delivery speed of software products.

You will design and maintain automated test solutions and partner with engineering and product teams throughout the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with a quality-focused mindset and can independently tackle moderately complex testing and automation challenges, including manual and exploratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 3–4 years of software development, test automation, or quality engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, or Java/C#/Ruby/JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with Gherkin/BDD frameworks.
• Experience with mobile UI automation (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest).
• REST API testing experience, including OAuth-based flows.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems using logs, metrics, traces, and debugging tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases and test suites; follow established automation frameworks.
• Create test strategies and plans for functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, performance testing.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve feedback speed and reliability.
• Review requirements and designs to identify risks and testability concerns early.
• Diagnose failures across application, test, infrastructure, and data layers with developers.
• Monitor quality metrics like defect trends and test coverage.
• Reduce flaky tests and improve maintainability and execution efficiency of tests.
• Participate in code reviews and promote testing best practices.
• Perform manual and exploratory testing for ELD compliance solutions with hardware-in-the-loop setups.
