Job summary

Maxonic Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our on-site SQA team in San Jose. This contract role focuses on API and UI automation, testing framework design, and close collaboration with developers to deliver high-quality software.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of testing/automation experience, strong Python skills, and a solid foundation in OO programming, testing techniques, and CI/CD practices. On-site work with a dynamic Agile environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in software testing, software development, or related technical discipline.
• Experience with Python programming and automation development.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, software design concepts, and basic algorithms.
• Experience with manual, automated, and non-functional testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain API and UI level automated tests for assigned development teams.
• Design and support test frameworks, tools, and environments for automated testing.
• Collaborate with developers and SQA engineers to identify quality risks and improve test coverage.
• Analyze requirements and verify features for testability during development lifecycle.
• Investigate and report defects; work with engineering to drive resolution.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and standards.
• Support testing infrastructure maintenance and enhancement; participate in Agile ceremonies.
