Job summary

Align Technology, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer in Test (Contract) in San Jose, CA. You will develop API and UI automated tests within the SQA team, build test frameworks, and partner with developers to ensure product quality throughout the Agile lifecycle.

You will analyze requirements for testability, investigate defects, participate in code reviews, and help improve testing infrastructure and practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in software testing, software development, or related technical discipline.
• Experience with Python programming and automation development.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles, software design concepts, and basic algorithms.
• Proven experience with testing techniques including manual, automated and non-functional testing.
• Analytical thinking with problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience working in a cross-functional Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain API and UI level automated tests for assigned development teams.
• Design and support test frameworks, tools, and environments for automated testing.
• Collaborate with software developers and SQA engineers to identify quality risks and improve test coverage.
• Analyze product requirements and verify features for testability during development lifecycle.
• Investigate, document, and report defects; partner with engineering to drive resolution.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Support configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of testing infrastructure as needed.
• Participate in sprint reviews, demos, and other Agile activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
