Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Invoicing team.

You will design and build services that generate, deliver, and ensure compliance of invoices used by AWS customers worldwide. You'll own end-to-end features, tackle large-scale distributed systems, and collaborate with product managers and compliance experts to translate regulatory requirements into reliable, maintainable software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Write and ship production code — Develop, test, and deploy high-quality code for backend services that generate and deliver invoice documents to AWS customers worldwide.
• Own software components — Take ownership of well-defined components within the invoicing platform, such as a rendering module or delivery workflow.
• Test thoroughly — Write unit tests, integration tests, and regression tests for your code.
• Debug and troubleshoot — Use logs, metrics, alarms, and debugging tools to identify and resolve defects.
• Deploy and operate software — Safe deployments across environments and maintain service health.
• Participate in code reviews — Review teammates' code and incorporate feedback.
• Learn and grow with guidance — Work on well-defined projects and learn system design approaches.
• Collaborate across the team — Partner with engineers, product managers, and compliance experts across globe.
