Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer II (SDE-2) to join the EKS Runtime Release team. You will design, build, and operate the node-level runtime infrastructure powering EKS compute across millions of customer workloads.

You will own AMI design, GPU/accelerator integration, and VM isolation runtimes, while driving SRE-focused reliability and performance improvements for AI/ML workloads on Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the node runtime infrastructure powering EKS compute.
• Own operational health of the EKS runtime layer across millions of workloads.
• Lead design and implementation of node runtime features end-to-end.
• Collaborate with EKS control plane teams, EC2, NVIDIA, and AWS AI/ML services.
