Job summary

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA is seeking a Scuba Diver to handle day-to-day maintenance of aquatic animal exhibits and assist with life support systems. The role reports to the Oceanarium Manager and requires open-water diving, record keeping, and collaboration with the Aquatic Sciences team.

Responsibilities include pool maintenance, equipment operation, chemical handling under SDS, and supporting animal moves and research projects.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be physically able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, work at heights with fall protection, swim.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Follow all policies of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Aquatic Sciences.
• SCUBA dive in fresh and salt water pools and exhibits 45°F to 82°F for up to 4 hours per day.
• Operate pool maintenance equipment (hydraulic scrubbers, pool vacuums).
• Maintain records and inventory; assist in animal moves and transport operations.
• Assist in research projects; participate in cross training; perform basic maintenance with supervision.
• Supervised addition of chemicals to LSS; ensure SDS compliance.
