Job summary

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is seeking an experienced Life Support Engineer to maintain aquatic animal exhibits and life support systems. Responsibilities include daily inspection, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and assisting with system builds.

Must work independently, prioritize tasks, and adhere to safety standards. The role requires lifting up to 75 lbs, working in wet or extreme conditions, and operating vehicles.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform math equations using geometry and algebra.
• Knowledge of maintaining closed loop filtration systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot LS systems including pumps, motors, valves, piping, ozone and UV.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate vehicles.
• Stand/walk in varied conditions and lift up to 75 lbs, with safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily inspection and maintenance of LSS equipment (pumps, filtration, ozone, UV, chemical dosing).
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic repairs of LSS equipment (seals, filters, cleaners).
• Assist with new system builds and modifications to existing Life Support systems.
• Maintain communication with Supervisors and other departments.
• Follow Six Flags policies, safety standards, and MSDS guidelines.
• Reports directly to the Area Manager of Life Support.
