Position Summary

The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Agile practices within the team, ensuring adherence to the Scrum framework, and fostering a collaborative environment to deliver high-quality work.

This role focuses on fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement while acting as a key enabler for the team's success.

In this role, the Scrum Master is responsible for identifying and eliminating impediments that might hinder the team's progress, supporting team members in their professional growth within an Agile framework, and ensuring that the team remains focused on delivering incremental value in each sprint cycle.

This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to Director, PMO Services.

What You Will Do

  • Facilitation of Scrum Practices:
  • Lead all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure the team adheres to Scrum principles and stays focused on sprint goals.
  • Team Support and Development:
  • Act as a servant leader, enabling the team to work effectively and fostering a culture of collaboration.
  • Coach the team on Agile practices, helping members transition to a mindset of self-organization and accountability.
  • Collaboration with Product Owners:
  • Support the Product Owner in defining, refining, and prioritizing the product backlog.
  • Facilitate clear communication between the Product Owner and the development team to ensure alignment on deliverables.
  • Impediment Removal:
  • Proactively identify obstacles that hinder progress and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve them quickly.
  • Maintain focus on creating a seamless workflow for the team to maximize productivity.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Track and report on key metrics such as velocity, sprint progress, and team performance.
  • Prepare regular updates and recommendations for stakeholders on project and team status.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess risks that might affect the team's ability to deliver on its goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks while keeping the team informed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders seeking updates on sprint outcomes and team capacity.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to foster collaboration and manage expectations.
  • Tool and Process Optimization:
  • Ensure effective use of project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to streamline workflows

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience and education.
  • 5+ years experience as a Scrum Master in a corporate environment
  • Scrum Master and Product Owner Certifications Preferred
  • Utilization of Jira, designing optimal workflows for scrum team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed andable handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create high-quality results-driven,team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions,and maintain confidentiality.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel (up to 10%); will include some overnight travel.
  • Proficient in MS Office, modern communication tools for virtual teams (i.e., MS Teams, Slack)

Physical Demands

Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:

  • Sitting, standing, and walking (95-100%)
  • Keyboarding (40-60%)
  • Viewing computer monitor, tablet and cell phone screen requiring close vision (95-100%)

Work Environment

100% Remote: Work environment is at home.

Compensation

$107,000 – $120,000 /yr prospectively plus 5% bonus with consideration to experience and geographical location . Please see www.clearcaptions.com/careers for an overview of our generous benefits program.
