Position Overview:

We are looking for a Scrum Master to join our Engineering department to drive and implement consistent agile delivery. This will be Trella Health’s first Scrum Master, and this person will have a great deal of latitude in how they build and introduce agile processes to create predictable and streamlined delivery. As our Scrum Master, you’ll play a critical role in facilitating our Scrum ceremonies for our engineering teams. And as the owner of our delivery process, you’ll act as a coach and advocate of agile methodologies. This role will define and build agile processes and frameworks that will propel Trella forward.

Location: Remote - US with Atlanta GA, Jacksonville FL, Nashville TN, and Philadelphia PA preferred

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

As the Scrum Master at Trella, you will:

  • Champion the benefits of agile development and instill agile principles and best practices for our Product and Engineering teams. Provide ongoing coaching to our teams as they continue to build amazing products and features for Trella’s customers.
  • Manage the scope, requirements, timeline, cost, quality, team allocation, and communication around Trella’s development initiatives.
  • Identify and manage risks / issues, and develop thorough mitigation plans to help keep Trella on track.
  • Maintain a structured, prioritized backlog, and collaborate with Product on prioritizing and refining it.
  • Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring the team is aligned and continuously improving.
  • Track project activities and team communications, proactively surfacing any insights or concerns to the leadership team. Prepare and present insights in the form of dashboards, reports, and presentations as needed.

This job might be a fit for you if you have:

  • 5 or more years of Agile leadership as a Scrum Master with a solid grasp of Agile methodologies, roles, and ceremonies.
  • Experience helping grow and foster learning and adherence to Agile methodologies in both Product and Engineering.
  • A passion for defining and building agile processes and frameworks.
  • A drive to create transparency and strong collaboration with Product Management colleagues.
  • Experience with Jira or similar project management tools.
  • The ability to help guide and mentor remote teams.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification is preferred.
