Job description

Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

This position is aligned to First Citizens Bank's Payments Delivery team within the Enterprise Payments organization. This position supports the management of product and software development teams as a servant leader.

Ensures that development teams follow scrum framework values and agile practices, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, facilitating, meetings and decision-making processes, and eliminating team impediments. Assists in increasing team efficiency and provides motivation and guidance for process improvement.

The Scrum Master II may be aligned to one of the following verticals: Core Domestic Payments, Direct Channel, or Credit Card Risk Management


Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination - Uses agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
  • Communication - Facilitates daily team meetings to get updates on the progress of the project, address potential roadblocks, and ensure that the project is on track.
  • Business Support - Plans and organizes demos and product/system testing. Ensures the proper use of collaborative processes and removes impediments for the scrum team.
  • Reporting - Tracks project processes, deliverables, and financials. Prepares and presents status reports to stakeholders.
  • Leads Agile team ceremonies - Daily stand-up, Spring planning, Sprint review, Retrospective.
  • Coaches team in Agile mindset, methodologies, processes, practices, and tools.
  • Partners with Product Owner and Technology Lead to ensure work in sprints are progressing and continues to align with the quarterly planning commitments.
  • Works to remote any team level risks or impediments keeping the team from completing work and escalates any risks and impediments that cannot be resolved or are project level risks.
  • Shields the team from external interference and ensures the team is fully functional and productive.
  • Ensures good team JIRA and Confluence hygiene that accurately reflects the current state of their work.
  • Tracks predictability of the team to deliver and monitors for continuous improvement.
  • Ensures team is aligned to SDLC process and standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Scrum Master Certification
  • Banking domain knowledge
  • Payments knowledge

The base pay for this position is generally between $101,700 and $136,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
