Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a dedicated Scribe/Certified Medical Assistant to provide clinical support under physician supervision. The role combines medical assisting duties with scribe responsibilities, including note transcription and EMR documentation.

The position requires accuracy, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting. A CMA credential and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Accurate, detail oriented and well organized.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office/Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Scribe duties: accompany clinicians, transcribe dictations and document encounters.
• CMA duties: assist with patient preparation, vitals, procedures, specimen collection and chart documentation.
• Ensure timely and accurate communication among clinician, patient and referrals.
• Initiate calls to provide patients with information and follow-up.
• Maintain orderly documentation and HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information.
• Assist with reception and basic clerical tasks as needed.
