Job summary

Bearon Manufacturing LLC is seeking a highly experienced Screw Machinist Set-Up Lead to join our team in Landisville, PA. You will be the technical expert for Davenport screw machines, handling setup, adjustments, troubleshooting, and ensuring parts meet exact specifications.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience setting up, troubleshooting, and operating Davenport screw machines
• Technical foundation from vocational training or related coursework
• Industry experience in high-volume metal manufacturing
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, indicators
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints or schematics
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
• Excellent attendance and strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Expert machine setup and tooling changes on Davenport screw machines to meet specifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine/programming issues quickly to minimize downtime
• Perform First Article and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
• Follow all processes, procedures, and documentation for machine operation and part inspection
• Conduct daily preventive maintenance and maintain a safe work environment
• Collaborate within a team and adapt to rotating assignments and cross-training

Work Hours: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Bearon Manufacturing LLC is seeking a highly experienced Screw Machinist Set-Up Lead to join our dedicated team in Landisville, PA! In this role, you will serve as the technical expert responsible for the performance, setup, and output of our specialized screw machines. What You'll Do:

• Expert Machine Setup: Perform comprehensive setups, tooling changes, and adjustments on Davenport Screw Machines to produce precision parts meeting exact specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve complex machine and programming issues swiftly to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
• Quality Assurance: Use precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, indicators) to perform First Article and in-process inspections, ensuring adherence to engineering blueprints and quality standards.
• Process Adherence: Strictly follow all manufacturing processes, procedures, and documentation related to machine operation and part inspection.
• Safety & Maintenance: Conduct daily preventative maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team structure, demonstrating flexibility with rotating assignments and cross-training as needed.

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Extensive, hands-on experience setting up, troubleshooting, and operating Acme, New Britain, Wickman, or Davenport screw machines.
• Technical Foundation: Proven mechanical aptitude demonstrated through hands-on experience, vocational technical training, or related coursework (e.g., auto mechanics, maintenance, or manufacturing technology).
• Industry Experience: Previous experience in a high-volume metal manufacturing, fabrication, or machining environment.
• Precision Tool Knowledge: Proficiency in using and interpreting precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).
• Blueprint Reading: The ability to accurately interpret basic engineering blueprints or schematics.
• The ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift and/or move materials weighing up to 40 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds (assistance provided for heavy lifts).
• A great attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent attendance record are non-negotiable.
