Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a hands-on manufacturing associate for the Clayville, NY site. This onsite role operates on the 8th shift (Monday–Thursday, 10pm–8am) in a controlled environment, handling super alloy work and machine operation. A high school diploma and reliable attendance are required.

Responsibilities include operating machines, hoisting, rigging, PPE compliance, and occasional task adjustments to meet department goals. Overtime may be necessary; competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or equivalent)
• Must have a strong attendance record
• Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Must be able to work hours outside of the regular shift
• Must be able to wear a respirator
• Mechanical aptitude preferred
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs, stand long periods, bend, squat, twist, reach overhead, and lift up to 25 pounds

• Process super alloy within an environmentally controlled, isolated area following written work instructions
• Perform basic hoist and rigging operations
• Operate powered industrial vehicles
• Operate machines in the main room per work instructions (e.g., Scalper, classifier, sweco, rotex)
• Disassemble, clean and reassemble main room machines and containers to QC standard
• Support continuous improvement and EH&S initiatives, including PPE usage
• Refer difficulties to Supervisor or Team Leader
• May be assigned to other tasks to support department objectives and skill development
• Overtime may be required
• Shift: 8th shift Monday-Thursday 10pm-8am

What You Will Do

• Process super alloy within the confines of an environmentally controlled, isolated area to the specifications of written work instructions overseen by S3 or above.
• Basic hoist and rigging operations
• Operate powered industrial vehicles (PIVs)
• Operate machines in the main room to work instruction standards (eg. Scalper, classifier, sweco, rotex)
• Disassemble, clean and reassemble main room machines and containers to QC standard (eg. Scalper, classifier, sweco, rotex, tote bins, storage bins, revert bins, clayville cans)
• Support the cell’s continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives, including wearing required personal protective equipment
• Refer difficulties to Supervisor or Team Leader.
• May be assigned to tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
• Must be able to work overtime when required
• This position is for 8th Shift Monday - Thursday 10pm-8am.

The salary range for this role is $21.00 per hour. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
