Job summary

Scratch Baking Co. in South Portland, ME, is seeking a bread/bagel baker with a positive outlook to join our Bread Kitchen crew. Responsibilities include all aspects of bagel bake, from scaling and shaping to boiling and baking, plus seasonal breads. Some commercial baking experience is preferred, but we welcome candidates looking to advance into professional baking.

The role is part-time (3–4 days/week) with mornings from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. and requires at least one weekend day.

Job description

Hello early risers and bagel lovers! We are looking for a bread/bagel baker with a positive outlook who is ready to learn and contribute as a team member to our stellar Bread Kitchen crew. Duties include all aspects of the bagel bake, including scaling, shaping, handling, and managing dough; boiling and baking our delicious bagels, as well as some baking of our seasonally-based assortment of artisan breads and baguettes. While some commercial baking experience is preferred, we are happy to speak with someone looking to advance into commercial baking.

This postion is 3-4 days per week with flexibility of days but must include one weekend day. Hours are 3 a.m. - 10 a.m.
