Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a Scale Operator to weigh and grade incoming scrap, guide drivers, and handle payments. The role requires basic computer skills and the ability to perform office tasks throughout the day.

Work shifts include Monday through Saturday, indoors and outdoors in varying weather. The ideal candidate exhibits reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Great customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual attendance.
• Must pass credit and background check.
• Must pass physical and drug screen.
• 2+ years’ experience operating truck scales is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Operate scale to weigh inbound and outbound trucks.
• Review, inspect, and document inbound loads.
• Direct drivers to yard locations for loading/unloading.
• Complete all documentation for vehicles and loads.
• Maintain accurate records of transactions and payments.
• Assist customers with questions on pricing and materials.
• Perform general office duties as needed.
• Test scales for accuracy and report malfunctions.
• Provide friendly, professional service at all times.
• Train for Ferrous and Non-ferrous scale operations.
