Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a Scale Operator to weigh and grade inbound scrap, direct drivers, and handle payments. The role requires a high school diploma, reliable attendance, and basic computer skills.

You will work both indoors and outdoors, with responsibilities spanning scale operations and office tasks. Qualifications include customer service excellence, 2+ years in scale operation preferred, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced yard setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be reliable, punctual and able to pass a credit/background check.
• Experience operating truck scales is preferred in scrap or similar industry.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; strong computer skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Operate scale to weigh inbound/outbound trucks and document loads.
• Direct drivers to yard locations for loading/unloading and complete paperwork.
• Process payments and maintain transaction records.
• Assist customers with pricing questions and materials types.
• Perform basic office duties and use MS Office/industry software.
• Train for Ferrous and Nonferrous scale operations as needed.
