Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role or scrap industry preferred.
• Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with customers and employees.
• Mathematical and problem solving skills, basic negotiation skills, attention to detail, and basic typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and grade incoming ferrous and non-ferrous scrap loads and operate scales.
• Direct customers to unloading areas and facilitate payment for in-bound material.
• Communicate pricing to production crews and customers while maintaining HSE standards.
• Ensure accurate documentation of purchasing transactions with office personnel.
• Test scales for accuracy and report equipment malfunctions to supervision.
• Comply with internal controls and company policies; interact with various departments daily.
• Handle multiple safety and maintenance issues, with flexibility during peak times.
