Job summary

SA Recycling in Norcross, GA is hiring a general laborer to support scrap metal operations. You will unload, sort, and move materials, operate basic yard equipment, and help maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Must pass medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check.
• Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively; understand direction and use basic math.
• Willingness to learn metal sorting, color/shape/weight identification, PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Unload pallets, boxes, and bundles.
• Sort and handle materials; push, pull, lift, carry, and fill hoppers and boxes.
• Unpack boxes using box cutters; separate plastics and packaging materials.
• Disassemble small equipment; cut wires; remove bolts and parts.
• Work with recycling equipment (metal shears, band saw, wire strippers).
• Direct traffic of yard vehicles.
• Light facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
• Maintain tools and assist machinery repair with team.
• Keep work areas neat and orderly; ensure safety and hygiene.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Organize materials for efficient space use.
• Dispose of waste materials properly.
• Inspect cleanup completion.
