Job summary

Alter Trading is seeking an Equipment Operator for its Eau Claire, WI yard. You will learn to operate the material handler (excavator), front end loader and other equipment to move material safely through our yard, including inspections and routine maintenance. Regular attendance and the ability to read, write and follow procedures are required.

Prior experience operating material handling equipment is beneficial but not required. Must be reliable, trainable, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment safety checks.
• Check fluids and back-up alarm; add fluid as needed.
• Perform lubrication and daily service.
• Start equipment and monitor gauges.
• Operate heavy equipment to load/unload trucks and rail cars.
• Move and load rail cars with scrap material.
• Follow shut down procedures and daily checklist.
• Complete daily equipment inspections.
• Maintain housekeeping and comply with safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
