Job summary

Alter Trading Corp. is seeking an Equipment Operator in Eau Claire, WI to learn and operate material handling equipment including excavators and front end loaders. You will perform safety checks, maintenance tasks, load and unload trucks/rail cars, and prepare paperwork while ensuring reliability and teamwork.

Requires diploma or GED with 3–5 years of related experience and proven ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Competitive hourly pay and strong safety duties are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Requires diploma or GED and/or three to five years related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Average mechanical aptitude.
• Prior Experience operating equipment including but not limited to – forklift, tractor, skid steer, or excavator
• Must have stable employment history and reliable attendance

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment safety check according to checklist.
• Check all equipment fluid for proper levels and back-up alarm for proper operating condition. Add fluid as needed.
• Perform lubrication and other daily service activities according to procedures.
• Start equipment and check gauges for proper operating status.
• Making lifts to assist.
• Operate Heavy Equipment to load/ unload trucks and rail cars, and feed scrap processing equipment, according to company and safety procedures.
• Move and load rail cars with scrap material as directed.
• Follow shut down procedures at end of shift according to daily checklist.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, etc.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
• Plan work sequences to ensure the most effective completion of work assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
