Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
4+ years of experience in the scrap metal industry.
Proven experience operating heavy equipment.
Proficient with grapples, magnetic attachments, and hydraulic systems.
Strong understanding of safety protocols (e.g., JSA, OSHA).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Operate hydraulic grapple or magnetic cranes to lift, move, and sort scrap metal.
Load material onto outbound trucks/trailers and unload customer vehicles.
Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and routine maintenance on equipment.
Comply with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards; maintain a clear work area.
Coordinate with ground personnel and truck drivers to position vehicles for loading/unloading.
