Factor Search is assisting a leading metals recycler in South Florida to hire a General Manager for a busy scrap-metal yard. You will own the site P&L, set pricing, optimize margins, and drive performance across receiving, processing, and shipping while guiding a team of supervisors and shop staff.

This hands-on leadership role requires deep material knowledge and a track record of turning around operations. The position offers a competitive base with a bonus structure and rapid hiring.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a scrap metal yard.
• Knowledge of non-ferrous and ferrous grades.
• Experience leading supervisors and blue-collar teams.
• P&L responsibility or strong commercial understanding.
• Buying experience with balers, shears and material handlers is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead a team of about 15 including ferrous/non-ferrous supervisors, office manager, and yard mechanic.
• Own the P&L: pricing, margins, costs and monthly volumes.
• Collaborate with the buying team to drive performance.
• Oversee receiving, sorting, grading, processing and shipping with inventory control.
• Maintain equipment and minimize downtime; uphold safety and regulatory standards.
