Job summary

Radius Recycling is seeking a Metals Inspector to monitor scrap deliveries and verify conformance to quality and quantity specs, while strictly adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Responsibilities include inspecting shipments, recording data, and guiding safe yard operations.

The role requires knowledge of materials, production processes, and procedures to maximize receipt and transfer of quality product, with regular interactions across supervisors and customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in a similar role preferred.
• Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with customers and other employees required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect shipments of scrap metal to ensure material meets specifications.
• Record inspection data such as weight, grade, content, and quantity of scrap metal.
• Notify supervisors of problems and assist in remedial actions to correct violations or issues.
• Collaborate with commercial department concerning quality and consistency of customer deliveries.
• Direct unloading of vehicles delivering scrap to ensure safe and orderly traffic flow.
• Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
• Report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Support the Internal Control process and communicate policy adherence.
