Job summary

Radius Recycling in the United States seeks a Metals Inspector to monitor deliveries and verify conformance to quality and quantity specifications while upholding Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. You will inspect scrap shipments by truck, rail, or ship, record weight and grade, coordinate with supervisors, and assist with yard operations.

This role requires attention to detail, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and strict adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with customers and other employees required.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect shipments of scrap metal received via truck, rail car, or ship to ensure material meets specifications and is free from environmental hazards.
• Record inspection data such as weight, grade, content, and quantity of scrap metal.
• Notify operations and commercial supervisors of problems and assist in remediation procedures.
• Collaborate with the commercial department concerning quality and consistency of customer deliveries.
• Direct the unloading of vehicles delivering scrap to ensure safe and orderly traffic flow within the facility.
• Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed.
