Job summary

Radius Recycling in Memphis, TN is seeking a Grader/Sorter to grade and sort incoming metal by appearance and quality for proper processing. The role includes general yard cleanup and other maintenance tasks to keep operations running smoothly.

The job is physical: frequent walking on uneven ground, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to hear and communicate effectively. Prior scrap yard experience is preferred; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
• English language ability at a basic level required.
• Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.
• Experience in a scrap yard is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive required.

Responsibilities

• Grade and sort incoming metal by appearance and quality for processing.
• General yard cleanup and maintenance to support operations.
• Basic sorting of scrap metal and debris in preparation for processing.
• Greasing and cleanup at shear and/or shredder areas.
• Assist with repairs and maintenance at railroad as needed.
• Provide backup support throughout the yard as assigned.
• Report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions to the supervisor.
