Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a Crane Operator to safely operate hydraulic grapples or magnetic cranes for loading and unloading scrap metal and containers. You will verify weights, follow instructions, and perform daily inspections in an outdoor yard environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of grapple crane experience in scrap or construction, and the ability to pass a medical, drug test, and background check. English/Spanish bilinguality is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• 2-year experience operating grapple cranes in scrap metal or construction.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions.
• Must pass medical, drug test and background check; attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a grapple or magnetic crane to lift, sort, load or unload scrap metal and debris.
• Determine load weights and verify against crane capacities.
• Control crane operations from written or signal instructions within safety parameters.
• Perform daily inspections and report concerns or needed repairs.
• Direct truck drivers for loading/unloading; follow safety rules.
