Job summary

Sims Metal is seeking a Crane Operator to handle scrap processing with front-end loader, material handlers, excavator, forklift, and related equipment. You will follow safety rules, conduct pre- and post-shift checks, and support daily operations in a fast-paced recycling environment.

Responsibilities include loading trucks and barges, maintaining equipment, and participating in safety programs. A GED or high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and at least 12 months of related experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum 12 months related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.
• Safely operate machinery under the direction of the shift supervisor or production manager. Load trucks, pile scrap material, load/unload barges and rail cars.
• End of shift clean up and equipment inspection.
• Participate in safety meetings and programs.
• Other duties may be assigned.
