Qualifications

• Prior experience operating cranes or heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough pre-shift inspections of the crane and work area.
• Perform visual inspections of the drop ball pit and safety barriers.
• Operate the drop ball crane to break down scrap metal, ensuring level and stable load.
• Load processed scrap into staging areas and coordinate with FEL operator for replenishment.
• Follow all site safety procedures and wear PPE at all times.
• Maintain radio communication with site personnel during operations.
• Lower the magnet during breaks and at shift end in designated areas.
• Stop operations immediately if unauthorized personnel are nearby and notify supervision.
• Adhere to environmental controls including dust mitigation and anti-idling procedures.
• Assist with cable changes and crane walk-in procedures as needed.
