Job Title: Patient Service Coordinator

Summary:

Greet and assist patients and visitors; check in patients for scheduled appointments.

Provide exceptional service to our patients and visitors; compile, verify and input data into

computer. Register patients; collects co-pays and patient balances daily by performing the .

following duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • 1. Reports to work as scheduled each day.
  • 2. To act in a manner that is indicative of team spirit and cooperation.
  • 3. Works cooperatively as a team member and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Southern California Orthopedic Institute.
  • 4. Complies with SCOI Policy and Procedures.
  • 5. Maintains departmental standards, department resources, along with the operating procedures.
  • 6. Greet and assist patients and visitors; maintain patient sign in sheet and appointment list; continually monitor and ensure that all patients are checked in and accounted for.
  • 7. Provide necessary paperwork to patient upon check-in. Review completed forms for accuracy and signature.
  • 8. Compile patient demographics, insurance information (scan copy of insurance card), and scan copy of driver's license.
  • 9. Accurately verify and register patient demographic and insurance information into patients account; verify and input any accompanying referrals and authorizations received from patient into appropriate case.
  • 10. Collect patient balances and co-pays as needed at time of service; enter payments for the corresponding ticket into the Billing module and onto Payment Log.
  • 11. Balance all payments received with your Deposit Slip for your batch at the end of the day.
  • 12. Deposit all Over-the-Counter collections daily according to Deposit Policy & Procedure.
  • 13. Process all no shows, cancellations and reschedules; forward work comp no show fee tickets to Patient Billing Coordinator for posting; route charts to medical records for re-filing.
  • 14. Schedules return appointments as needed
  • 15. Assists with coverage of Patient Billing and Benefits Coordinator as needed.
  • 16. Completes meaningful-use related functions as assigned.
  • 17. Scans patient documents into SRS.
  • 18. Assists with benefits verification as assigned.
  • 19. Provides coverage in any SCOI satellite as needed.
