JOB OVERVIEW
The SCM Specialist supports the end-to-end supply chain operations for HYH America, focusing on import/customs compliance, logistics coordination, purchasing support, and inventory management. This role manages key documentation and communicates closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, 3PL warehouses, and internal/external teams to ensure timely shipment flow and accurate inventory control. The SCM Specialist also assists with purchase order management, supply planning activities, and regular reporting, contributing to smooth operational efficiency and cross-functional collaboration within the organization.
This is a fulltime, exempt position, fully on-site based at our Irvine, CA office.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Import & Customs Support
- Assist with inbound shipments of ingredients and finished products.
- Support U.S. import processes including ISF, Prior Notice, and Customs Entry Filing.
- Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, and other external partners regarding product sourcing, shipping schedules, ETD/ETA, and required documents.
- Track shipment status and ensure timely document submission.
Logistics Operations
- Coordinate inbound and outbound activities with 3PL warehouses.
- Monitor and verify inventory reports regularly.
- Assist with order fulfillment, shipping requests, and outbound preparation.
- Review warehouse operation reports and investigate discrepancies.
Purchasing & Supply Planning
- Assist in issuing purchase orders and communicating with suppliers.
- Track lead time, MOQ, production schedules, and delivery updates.
- Maintain PO tracking sheets and supply status reports.
- Support demand planning and basic forecasting tasks.
Documentation & Reporting
- Manage logistics and import/export documentation.
- Validate logistics invoices (freight, drayage, warehousing, customs fees).
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports including shipment updates, KPI summaries, and inventory status.
Inventory & Reporting
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain supply planning trackers
- Support inventory planning, including safety stock and replenishment
- Prepare reports on demand, supply, and inventory performance
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Communicate with QA, Sales, Accounting, and Operations teams.
- Support sample shipments and scheduling.
- Perform additional SCM-related tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in any field (Supply Chain, Business, Logistics preferred).
- Relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or related fields.
- Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- English business communication skills (Fluent).
- Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualification
- Internship or coursework in SCM, logistics, or international trade.
- Understanding of U.S. import processes (ISF, PN, Customs Entry Filing).
- Experience with freight forwarders, brokers, or 3PL warehouses.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position and operate office equipment for a prolonged period.
- Physical activities include, but are not limited to, constant manual dexterity, moving about the work site, and/or handling objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to work a schedule that supports business operations, including occasional weekends, holidays, and hours outside of the normal work schedule, as needed.
- Must be able to travel as business needs require.
- Must be able to handle multiple deadlines, shifting priorities, and time-sensitive supply chain issues.
- Requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
COMPENSATION
- Base salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise.
