Job Description:
Sepax Technologies, Inc. seeks a highly motivated and creative scientist who can work independently or with a team and develop and perform purification procedures and analytical chromatographic methods. This full-time exempt position is based at our headquarter office located in Newark, Delaware.

Requirements:

• Basic Qualifications:
• BSc in protein biochemistry, cell biology, biology, molecular biology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hand-on experience, preferably in an industrial research environment, national lab and/or other core facility structure.
• Two or more years of experience with gene and expression vectors design, cloning, PCR, nucleic acid purification, gel electrophoresis.
• Two or more years of expression, fermentation, protein purification, protein characterization, ELISA, Western-blot experience.
• Two or more years of experience in the operation and maintenance of AKTA FPLC and Agilent HPLC systems.
• Experience with Unicorn, ChemStation/Open Lab software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
• Positive attitude with ability to work well in a group environment.
• Physically fit to stand, bend and twist with the ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• MSc in protein biochemistry, cell biology, biology, molecular biology or related field.

Responsibilities:

• Propose, implement, maintain, and deliver existing and/or new capabilities for the expression, purification and characterization of proteins
• Deliver high quality materials with appropriate control experiments and documentation.
• Maintain the equipment and manage the consumables in the Molecular Biology/Purification laboratory.
• Interpret the results of experiments and update protocols accordingly.
• Keep current with the latest developments and techniques in the field.
• Ensuring safety procedures and regulations are followed in the laboratory.
• Present research findings and updates in internal reports, project meetings, and external scientific meetings when appropriate.
